I am a visual artist based in South Carolina. My work consists of paintings & sculpture pieces of figurative imagery & lyrical abstractions, lovingly handcrafted at my home studio in Lexington, SC. Using acrylic & oil paints I create works that depict my imagination. I fuse natural pigments and detail lines to create vibrancy in each piece. Sparked by dreams, my subjects are sketched out and researched. Each work of art evolves into expressive paintings of whimsical mushrooms, rhythmic trees and upcycled abstract sculpture. My three-dimensional pieces are created by using reclaimed machine parts and textiles. Through this process I am able to make art and lessen the impact of waste on our planet. My work takes me to galleries and art shows throughout the US and Europe. Locally, I enjoy participating in group collaborations with local artists communities. |
A lovely article about AlexandraMixed-media/textile art is a visual discussion about clothing waste. From discarded gowns to used clothing. Each piece is a long formation process of deconstructing materials, Hand and machine stitching, shaping into contemporary abstract forms. Each designed with vibrant textured materials. Current paintings are grounded in deconstruction.Proving viewers with reductive visions of humanity, with outlined focal points.
