I enjoy our connection to trees. They provide nutrients to the soil so we may grown food, shelter for humans and all creatures. Their root systems are interconnected and some actually are one root system.
The oldest is the Pando Forest, in Utah, my favorite forest.

Trees are beautiful and I love to paint every shape and form from birch to oak.

Throughout my life I have enjoyed hiking, camping & star-gazing especially in the mountains. Appalachian Mountains, from the Blue Ridge to the White Mountains . Often I wander through the woods and I see broad strokes & vivid color paintings everywhere.

When creating my textile pieces I begin by deconstructing gently used gowns or clothes. I prefer to use satin, taffeta and silks based on texture, therefore old gowns and ties work best. I blend the colors and textures by hand-stitching & machine sewing. I love to create spiral patterns when restructuring fabric.  Once complete, I mount them on wood or create dowels and stitch each piece to free hang. Colors and nature are my inspiration.
